Jamia Millia Islamia administration issued a notice to its residential students asking those who have furnished fake certificates to vacate the hostel immediately. According to Jamia sources, the notice was issued after the administration received a complaint stating that some students have submitted fake certificates at the time of their hostel renewal or new admissions.
The notice also stated that such students will have to face disciplinary action. The notice was issued to all hostels, though the complaint was specifically against the hall of boys residence.
According to the provost, Syed Akhtar Husian, "We have received a complaint and in its reaction, we have issued the notice so that the guilty students, if any, can come forward on their own and vacate the hostels. If no one comes forward, we will verify the certificates on our own and take disciplinary action."
The Jamia administration, however, is not sure as to how many such students are there in the hostels.
